Rev. Beth Newman is our Pastor. Beth and her husband, Brownie, live in Asheville with their two teenage daughters, two dogs, and three cats. Beth is a native of North Carolina, grew up in LaGrange, Georgia, and attended Davidson College and Columbia Theological Seminary. She has served the Presbyterian Church in the Asheville area for the past twenty-five years and is grateful to now be serving the Bryson City Presbyterian Church.
Kathy has provided music for Worship for over 40 years, mostly in the Bryson City area. Highlights of her musical repertoire include a minor in Music from UNC-Greensboro; singing with the Getty Choir at Carnegie Hall; and the Asheville Community Chorus at Avery Fisher Hall at the Lincoln Center. She provided musical accompaniment for over 10 years for the Smoky Mountain Community Theatre, and 16 years for the Swain High School Musical Theatre. Kathy is a retired School Librarian and teacher.
Elise retired from Swain County government after 23 years as Human Resources Director. She is very involved in the community as President of the Swain County Genealogical Society and Chairperson of the Swain County Heritage Board.
Michael and Daniel Cochran, twins, are graduates of Haywood Community College and have degrees in Horticulture. They recently owned and operated their own Green House and Plant Nursery. They have over 30 years of Custodial experience.
