The mission statement of Bryson City Presbyterian Church is:

We seek to follow Jesus Christ as we...
Engage and encourage one another in worship and fellowship
Learn together as we grow in discipleship and
Reach out in love

Our scripture theme is:

"Now to him who by the power at work within us is able to accomplish more than all we can ask or imagine, to him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever.  Amen."

Ephesians 3:  20-21

The Ministries of the Bryson City Presbyterian Church:

WORSHIP

Worship is the most important thing our small church does.  We enjoy worshiping in our renovated sanctuary every Sunday at 11:00 am.  We celebrate the Lord's Supper on the first Sunday of every month.  We include elders, lay leaders and youth in the reading of liturgy, scripture,  children's story time and prayers.   Music is an important element of our worship.  Our choir leads us in worship each Sunday.  Special music is often provided by our Hand Chime Choir as well as by instrumentalists from our community.  COME WORSHIP WITH US!

CONGREGATIONAL NURTURE & FELLOWSHIP

There are many opportunities to 'meet and greet' each other - first Sunday Coffee and Fellowship after worship service, Wednesday morning Bible Study (11:00 am), Thursday morning Men's Breakfast Club (8:00 am), Thursday morning Women's Breakfast (8:00 am) at various restaurants in town,  and Presbyterian Women.  We have an active Prayer Chain, Food Teams for those in need, and people who visit, send cards and keep in touch with our members and friends.

TO BE A BLESSING IN THE COMMUNITY

As a community of faith, our members are involved in several ministries within our community and within the Presbyterian USA. Being in a small town, we work alongside other churches to participate in the Bryson City Food Pantry. We volunteer at The Restoration House, a Methodist-based ministry, the Swain County United Gift Fund - which benefits multiple non-profits in our county, The Giving Spoon - a community table that supplies hot meals two days a week to those in need in our community.  We also participate with our Presbytery - in youth events like the Presbyterian Youth Triennium, on Presbytery committees, Presbyterian Disaster Relief trips and with Presbyterian Women.

PASS ON OUR FAITH TO THE NEXT GENERATION

We pass on our faith through youth Sunday School at 10:00 am on Sunday mornings and through youth events, and Triennium with our WNC Presbytery Youth Connection, along with mission opportunities with Asheville Youth Mission, through baptism and confirmation and in other faith nurturing ways.

TO MAINTAIN OUR BUILDING FOR HOLY SPACE AND MISSION

We were faithful to restore our Sanctuary, and we continue to strive to be good stewards of our property and to address obstacles to hospitality and safety.  We are also committed to care for our environment in the way we use our space. Our building is used by other non-profits such as The Giving Spoon, AA, Al-Anon, and The Bryson City Food Pantry is permanently housed within our walls.

PRESBYTERIAN WOMEN OF BRYSON CITY PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH

Empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves to nurture our faith through prayer and bible study, support the mission of the church worldwide, to work for justice and peace, and to build an inclusive, caring community of women that strengthens the Presbyterian Church (USA), and witnesses to the promise of God’s Kingdom.

We are a group of over 20 women who meet the second Tuesday of each month under the name of the Lois Circle. The Lois Circle is a circle where faith is nurtured, and growth takes place through worship, bible study, friendship, and outreach. All women are invited to attend, come early, bring their lunch and have fellowship. The meeting is at 1:00 pm in the Hut at the church. Each meeting includes bible study conducted from the Presbyterian Women’s Horizon Bible Study series.
